Urbanisations

These are purpose-built developments of apartments, townhouses and/or villas. These are recognisable parts of the Spanish resort landscapes and cities, and very popular.

Urbanisations come in a range of sizes; some are small, whilst some are almost towns in their own right. They are varied and cater for different needs and every price range – often there will be a mixture of different types of property available, as well as a number of different facilities and amenities, from shops, transport systems, sports complexes and bars. These will often by populated by foreigners, generally of the same nationality in each one – particularly on the costas.

The advantages of living here include general tranquillity, pleasant surroundings, good security and a ready-made foreign community. Disadvantages could include a lack of facilities, and limited public spending.
